An Echo of the Fae Release Day + Blog Tour Schedule

Today is the day! The day that An Echo of the Fae is released into the wild! To celebrate, we’ve got an epic line-up of posts for your reading pleasure over the next 10 days. These awesome bloggers have graciously lent me some cyber-time on their sites and I’m excited about all we have planned. There are some interviews with Yours Truly, as well as interviews with various characters from An Echo of the Fae, and some guest posts in which I talk about various inspirations behind the story, my favorite fairy tales, world building, and more! Make sure you check back each day to find out where I’ll be, I don’t want you to miss any part of the celebration!

We’ve also got an IG challenge that you can participate in, I’ve included the challenge graphic at the end of this post.

Over the course of the next week and a half I’ll also be introducing the main characters, sharing character art, and other fun things, so make sure you check back so you don’t miss any of the fun!

If you’ve been following me for any amount of time, you may have recognized the slight irregularity revolving around today’s release… today is a Sunday. AND a holiday.

It probably seems like one of the worst ideas ever to release a book today. And honestly, I went back and forth on it, as well.

I don’t usually post on Sundays, and I’ve never released a book on a Sunday (and probably won’t again anytime soon). I also know that releasing a book in conjunction with a holiday is usually not a good idea.

However, today is important to the release of this book for two reasons. 1) It’s the first day of Summer (okay, okay, technically the first day of summer was yesterday this year, but growing up, I thought the seasons ALL started on the 21st of their respective months and it’s only been recently that I’ve discovered that the date shifts around a bit from year to year and I’m still grappling with that shock…) and 2) it’s Father’s Day.

Why are these two things important? Well, the first day of summer (or the Summer Solstice) is an important date in the book. It marks the deadline for Echo’s quest… if she doesn’t complete her quest by sunset on the Summer Solstice… all the bad things will happen.

And today being Father’s Day is important because my Daddy is always my first reader. He’s the reason I write books and he’s the only one I’m willing to share my messiest rough drafts with. Without his encouragement, support, and honest critiques, I wouldn’t be the author I am today. Without his willingness to tell me when something feels “off” this book wouldn’t be the story it is. So this is my Father’s Day gift to him.

It’s also important because Echo’s parents play an integral role in the story and family is one of the main themes of this book.

So… it seemed appropriate to release this book today.

Echo enjoys the peace and solitude of the Faeorn forest, regardless of how strange spending time in the “haunted” wood seems to others.

But on the cusp of her thirteenth birthday, the discovery of a family secret reveals why Echo has never been drawn to the sea like her mother. This discovery shakes the foundations of her world and sends Echo on a quest, not merely into the forest, but into the heart of the fae-lands themselves, to rescue the sister she didn’t know existed.

Elves, dragons, and fairy courts will put Echo’s wit and resolve to the test. But with time running out for her sister, will Echo even be able to save herself?

A fairytale adventure perfect for fans of The Secret of Roan Innish and The Girl Who Drank the Moon.

Praise for An Echo of the Fae:

If you’ve ever felt uncomfortable in your own skin - or unsure of your place in this (or any other) world, this journey is for you. An Echo of the Fae is both timely and timeless, a mythic quest where anything is possible, nothing is as it seems, and everything is at stake.
— Allen Arnold, author of The Story of With

Jenelle Schmidt has a gift for drawing readers into the action even from the very first sentence—and An Echo of the Fae is no exception. I was instantly captivated by this timeless story of adventure, discovery, friendship and family. Not only is An Echo of the Fae a book families can enjoy together, it is also one that leaves readers with full hearts, ignited imaginations, and a longing to embark on their own adventure.
— Jennifer Marshall Bleakley, author of Joey: How a Blind Rescue Horse Helped Others Learn to See

Enthralled by the terror, charm, riddles, and beauty of a richly depicted fae world, I devoured this marvelous book in two sittings! Readers of all ages will love Echo, a heroine strong in her weakness, clever and resolute amid her doubt and fear. An Echo of the Fae is sure to satisfy lovers of adventure and faery!
