2025 Silmaril Awards: Voting Begins

Good mooooooorning, Neverland!

I mean, interweb-space… got a little carried away there.

The week of nominations is over and there are currently 123 epic heroes camping out in my back yard. We did not have enough space for them in the basement this year, but they heroically agreed to rough it for the duration of September, claiming—most of them—that they had endured far worse conditions on their various adventures.

Our top 5 finalists for Epic Hero are:

Picket Longshanks (The Green Ember Series)

Despereaux (The Tale of Despereaux)

Kalmar Wingfeather (The Wingfeather Saga)

Captain Marik (The Turrim Archive)

Grayden Ormond (The Turrim Archive)

I am so honored to have not one but TWO of my own characters make the top 5 finalist round!

Additionally, don’t forget that when you vote and sign up for the Silmaril Awards email newsletter, you’ll be entered into a giveaway to win some pretty awesome prizes! Two runners-up for this contest will be contacted via email after September 15. However, two other people will be selected for the second round and the grand prize contest. On September 26, the hosts will meet online for a Lord of the Rings trivia contest, with half of the hosts competing for one entrant and half for the other. Whoever’s team wins will walk away with the grand prize and the other entrant will receive the runner-up prize.
