Meet Me at Realm Makers!

Whew! It’s been a hot minute since I graced the blog with my presence!

I’m so sorry I’ve been so silent here for the past… 2 months! Spring has just become one of the busiest times of the year for me, and trying to release the last book in the Turrim Archive in the middle of all that just wiped me out.

Life just keeps moving forward, and so does time, and here we are in June!

I would love to say that I’m going to try to be more faithful to write posts, but I fear that would just be setting me up for failure and you all for disappointment. I still love blogging and I have all these ideas, I just don’t ever seem to have the time. As my kids get older, I am more and more involved in all of their activities, and what little time I have left over to myself, I actually want to spend it writing books. So the blog may continue to be silent for a while as I work my way through these sweet, busy, eventful years.

I do try to send out my newsletter very faithfully at least once a month, so if you want to keep up-to-date with me, that’s a good place to be. I also do occasional giveaways in there.

Realm Makers is Coming!

We're only 3 weeks away from Realm Makers, and I'm super excited to see any of you who might be there this year! If you're in the St. Louis area, you should pop into the Expo and say "hi!"

WHAT IS REALM MAKERS?

I’m so glad you asked!

From Dragons to Deep Space: Realm Makers Conference & Expo has cultivated the largest in-person gathering of Christian nerds who create & enjoy Fantasy and Science Fiction. (ST. LOUIS, Mo.) Realm Makers, the premiere convention for faith-driven storytellers of fantasy and science fiction announces its 2026 Conference & Expo.

Taking place June 25-27 at St. Louis Union Station, this annual event brings together writers, creators, and fans who share a passion for stories rooted in faith, imagination, and adventure. 1250 attended last year's convention in Grand Rapids, MI. Now, the convention returns to St. Louis for its 8th time in 14 years.

While the last decade of speculative fiction has been defined by dystopian despair, a new wave of 'Hopepunk' is taking over the charts. Realm Makers 2026 is positioning itself at the epicenter of this shift, equipping creators to craft the next movement of hopeful, wonder-filled narratives that readers—and viewers—are starving for.

“Realm Makers is about building authentic community around the kinds of stories people care deeply about,” says Realm Makers CEO Scott Minor. “Whether you’re a reader, a creator, or just someone who loves great storytelling, this is a place to discover new worlds and meet the people behind them.”

Realm Makers provides a full weekend of content for lovers of books, comics, gaming, film, animation, and all forms of nerdy Christian creativity. Attendees will also find philosophical sessions and panel discussions designed for church leadership and parents about navigating pop culture and nerd culture which is increasingly popular among younger generations.

Film screenings include:

  1. The Forge of Friendship, presented by Eastgate Creative and the C.S. Lewis Foundation, a compelling look at the legendary bond between J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis

  2. UFOs and God, presented by Winter Star Productions and Amaris Media International, A 90-minute documentary exploring the UFO craze and its impact on Christians, featuring experts in astronomy, theology, sociology, military intelligence, archaeology, biblical history, and astrophysics.

VIP ticket holders for the Expo receive exclusive access to the Realm Awards costume banquet on Thursday June 25—an evening celebrating excellent faith-driven works of Science Fiction and Fantasy—and also to keynote addresses from Kathy Tyers Gillin, Bill Myers, and Steve Taylor. Deluxe, Standard, One-day tickets, and Shopping Only passes are also available.

If you want to stop by my booth, you can get into the Expo for free with the discount code: RMX26PASS

The Writer’s Conference

Alongside the Expo, there is also the writer’s conference, and the good news is that if you are a writer there’s still time to register for the conference! Whether you’re just starting out putting your pen to the page (or your fingers to the keyboard) or a seasoned author with multiple books already out in the wild, there’s so much you can learn at the sessions at Realm Makers! I highly recommend trying to get there! The classes are fantastic, the teachers are knowledgeable and caring, and the networking is worth the price of admission all on its own. If you are a Christian Creative, this is the place for you. You will find encouragement, support, and a beautiful community of “your” people here.

Hope to see you there!
